Getting Married and Celebrating With Us

Here’s the most important thing to know first: our venues at Bell Heath and Malvern don’t hold a wedding licence or an alcohol licence; however, for lots of our couples, that turns out to be a good thing.

Most couples make it legal with a short, simple appointment at their local registry office, often on the Friday or a few days before, then celebrate with family and friends at Boundless all weekend. Because we don’t hold an alcohol licence, there’s no corkage charge. You apply for your own Temporary Event Notice (TEN), which is a straightforward online form, and stock the bar however you like.

We have two guides – Legal Marriage Guide and TENs Made Simple – that walk you through both steps, and our team is always happy to talk them through with you.

Planning Your Day

The essentials for keeping your plans, your budget, and your suppliers on track.

A month-by-month checklist that takes you from “we’re engaged” to the morning after, with space to add your own tasks. It’s written with outdoor and DIY weddings in mind, so it includes the things a hotel venue would normally handle for you, like furniture, lighting, and clearing up.

A ready-made budget spreadsheet that adds everything up as you go, with suggested categories, space for quotes and deposits, and a running total against your budget. Make a copy in Google Sheets or download it for Excel.

Dry hire means you hire the venue and bring in everything else yourself: food, drink, staff, and styling. It gives you complete freedom over your day, but it’s important to know exactly what you’ll need to arrange. This checklist covers it all, from caterers and crockery to toilets, lighting, and waste. We’ve also marked what’s already included when you celebrate at Boundless, so you can see at a glance what’s left to sort.

A plain-English guide to the legal side of getting married in England: giving notice at your register office, booking a short register office ceremony, and planning your celebration around it. It includes a simple timeline so nothing gets left until the last minute.

Running Your Own Bar

No corkage means you can serve the drinks you love. Here’s how to do it properly.

A Temporary Event Notice lets you serve alcohol at your celebration. One of you applies online to the local council at least 10 clear working days before the event; it costs £21, and you need to be 18 or over. Our one-page guide explains each step and what to have ready when you apply.

How much wine, beer, fizz and soft drinks do you actually need? Pop in your guest numbers and how long the party runs, and the calculator will give you a guide to a sensible shopping list – obviously its then up to you to adapt if you think you need to. Make a copy in Google Sheets or download it for Excel.

Catering with Oh My Nosh

If you’d rather not organise the food yourselves, Oh My Nosh is the preferred catering partner at Boundless. Based in St Johns, Worcester, they can take the cooking off your hands so you can spend the day with your guests. You’re still free to bring in your own caterer or cook for yourselves if you prefer.

Browse a selection of sample menus to get a feel for what’s possible, then talk to the Boundless team about your plans and we’ll put you in touch.

Your Questions Answered

The Boundless venues at Bell Heath and Malvern don’t hold a wedding licence, so the legal part takes place at venue that is registered e.g. a register office or religious building. Most couples do this shortly before their weekend, then celebrate at Boundless. The guide to getting legally married explains how.

Dry hire means you hire the venue and arrange everything else yourself, including food, drink, staff, and decoration. It gives you full control over your day and your budget.
