Intermediate Apprenticeship in Activity Leadership.
We are now looking to take on 4 apprentices this year. Please contact us about opportunities for 2020/21.
What does an apprenticeship with Boundless Outdoors look like?
In 2020/21 we recruited four new apprentices to the team at Boundless Outdoors: Liam, Ethan, Meg and Elle. These posts are for an apprentice multi-activity instructor. The centre delivers a huge range of activities e.g mountain walking, climbing wall, tree climbing, assault course, archery, problem-solving, grass sledging and orienteering. This post will also require the candidates to work in an assistant capacity across the site to obtain an all-round knowledge of centre based work. All staff are expected to take their share of cleaning and maintenance work and so it is equally important that training is given in all areas as part of the position.
Day to Day Duties
- Assisting with activities
- Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of equipment
- Liaising with customers and other members of staff

The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Activity Leadership is the perfect package for those seeking to learn and develop the absolute fundamentals of what we do, i.e. deliver engaging, high-quality sessions of outdoor learning. You will learn about what makes an amazing session how to make it safe and enjoyable; and how to effectively conclude and review. Ultimately, by the end of this Apprenticeship with Boundless Outdoors, you will be able to call yourself an Outdoor Instructor and be ready to take the next step.
Freelance and Seasonal Instructors
We are looking for Freelance staff and Seasonal instructors from March – October to bring the centre alive. We are fully booked during this time so will need a large group of instructors to offer our multi activity residential stays.
We are looking for people with CWA training and a broad knowledge of the outdoors. This job could be ideal for University students looking to gain some work experience and a little bit of money during the summer holidays.
A fully paid training programme will be offered during April to help orientate staff at the centre and continued staff development throughout the season.
All positions will be at a competitive rate of pay relevant to the experience and qualifications of the individual.
